Our Literacy Launcher series is based on approaches that are consistent with the developmental stage of children who are emergent readers and mathematicians. The curriculum content in Literacy Launcher supports children's development of fluency with key concepts in language and mathematics as they move from pre-kindergarten through grade three.
Our learning activities and assessments use vivid photography, brilliant animation, voice instruction from children, and real-life situations that children can relate to. These involve the students in a multi-sensory learning experience. Because children bring a broad spectrum of knowledge into the classroom, Literacy Launcher curriculum content is divided into levels, rather than grades. Below is a description of each level followed by a sample Curriculum Object.

Level 1 Language activities provide children learning opportunities with beginning, middle and ending letter sounds, and eventually lead to the decoding of CVC words. In math, children work through a variety of activities designed to help with concepts such as one-to-one correspondence, single digit addition and subtraction, geometric shapes and their properties, estimating, and problem solving.

This curriculum level is intended for children in first and second grade, or for children whose assessment results would place them at this level. While children learn about words, sentences and paragraphs in level 2, they also learn about blends, digraphs, long vowels, reading comprehension strategies, vocabulary, and writing conventions. In math, children continue to build a strong foundation by working on concepts such as parts of a whole, equality, 3-D geometry, counting with money, and strategies for problem solving.
